• Choose a removal company and not a transportation company
• Ask if the personnel is professional
• Agree and confirm the removal date at least 15 days prior
• Ask for all the content of their furniture to be (individually) packed
• If taking care of the packing themselves, do not use big boxes for fragile objects and books
• Mark all boxes with the destination room in the new house
• Mark all boxes containing plates and glasses and show them to the removals team
• Ask for furniture disassembly and reassembly
• Call the plumber and the electrician for the new house in advance
• Remember to rescind their phone, gas and electricial supply contracts and give notice of change of residence to their local authority.
